Another season comprises of playoff between a dozen teams, which start from the month of January and end with the Super Bowl at the beginning of February. The team which wins the Super Bowl is considered to be the NFL Champion.
NFL Pre-Season Games:
Subsequent to the mini camps, during the spring season as well as the “Training Camp” in the month of July and August, as much as 4 exhibition games are played by the NFL teams. These games are denoted as pre-season games by the National Football League. It is observed that, the National Football League often discourages the usage of the word “exhibition game” right from the start of the month of August and till the start of September month. A couple of pre-season games, namely, the American Bowl and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game are not included in the 4 games. This means that four teams, which play in these games have to play at 5 pre-season games. These games are especially helpful for those players, who don’t have the relevant exposure of playing with large quanta of spectators. These games are often used by the management, in order to sign new talented players. Players who don’t have age to their side play for a small time period amounting to quarter of each play, so as to avoid any form of injuries.

In NFL playoffs, the winners of each division are ranked depending upon their individual records. They are seeded from 1-4. Two of the teams are labeled as Wild Card teams, namely, Wild Card 2 and Wild Card 1 which are seeded as fifth and sixth, irrespective of the records when equated with the division winners. |
